congenital vertical talus

What does congenital vertical talus deformity mean?

A congenital vertical talus is a rare congenital deformity of the foot in which the talus bone is in more of a vertical position than its normal horizontal position. This give the appearance of a rocker bottom foot.

See the talus in this image:

The treatment of a congenital vertical talus is usually via manipulation and repeated casting, often with surgery.
