The problem with any recommendation as to a good cream to use for chilblains is that there is a reasonable amount of variability between people in how they respond to the different creams. There is no research that shows which is a good cream to use to help treat and prevent chilblains. Each chilblain cream on the market has anecdotes and testimonials as to how good it is and how well it works. The problem with anecdotes and testimonials is that what works for one person is not necessarily going to work for the next person. That makes the anecdotes and testimonials not particularly helpful as the response to the cream is such an individual think.
If you need a cream for your chilblains, then what is a good one to start with to see how you respond? Each podiatrist that treats chilblains in the cooler climates will have their preferred cream that they recommend. Interestingly when you ask podiatrists what chilblain cream they recommend, you will probably get at least one recommendation for each and every cream! However, some brands do get mentioned more often than others and one of those is the Akileine Akilwinter Chilblain Cream which is the one that I recommend people start with. I mostly recommend that one as a number of other podiatrists also recommend it.
As always, there are other strategies to prevent and treat chilblains, so it is important to use them in addition to any sort of ream being rubbed into the skin.
